They're back......

It has been a while since we've heard new material from Ed Sheeran, he made a lasting impression with some of my all time favourite songs Kiss Me, Wake Me Up, Give Me Love the list goes on and on. He is one of the few artists with real talent, comfortable with a guitar and mic on stage, no backup dancers, flashing lights and over the top routines needed, just his voice. His new track Sing is produced by the one and only Pharrell and features on his upcoming album titled X. Sheeran has admitted that this album is heavily influenced by past relationships and based on ex girlfriends. Walking in the footsteps of one of his very close friends Miss Taylor Swift, the queen of revenge songs, we can only hope that he remains the same heartfelt artists we have grown to love, don't let the Hollywood lights change you too much Ed. In this particular Billboard interview he mentioned :'If you date a songwriter, be prepared to have songs written about you. If you do nice things you will have nice songs, and if you do fucked up things, you'll get a horrible song.' He goes on to say that he has some 'bitey' songs on this new record. Don't you just love a pissed off popstar? Makes things a lot more interesting and real, if this song is anything to go by I don't think there is anything to worry about, it's a new sound but still distinctively Ed Sheeran. Took me a few plays to get into it but I love this tune and if you're like me, hit rewind a few times, it's a grower not a shower.

Coldplay released their new video for their single Magic and can I just say, welcome back Coldplay I feel like we lost you for a moment, it's good to have you back. The release of their new song was either a blessing or somewhat of a nightmare, especially considering lead vocalist Chris Martin's recent split, or should I say 'conscious uncoupling' from his long time love Gwyneth Paltrow, who revealed the news on her website click here to see it for yourself . This could be a blessing because promo for Coldplay's new track has basically done itself, however this could also be a complete nightmare because their lives and their family is being torn apart in the media, so I guess it depends on how you look at it.
Magic sounds, smells, feels and looks like Coldplay, almost as if they have gone back to basics and are creating the kind of music that reminds us of Yellow and Fix You. Don't get me wrong I like it when artists experiment and evolve, the same repetitive music can get boring but sometimes it's great when artists go back to their roots. The lyrics are sweet and the music is not overbearing, it's simple and exactly what we needed from Coldplay, welcome back.

Enjoy <3
